Since arriving in Los Angeles, Jamey Tate has become one of the most sought after musicians on the national touring and studio scenes. He has performed and/or recorded with a widely diverse list of some of the biggest artists in the music industry, including Grammy nominees/winners David Benoit, Al Jarreau, Christopher Cross, Quincy Jones, Melissa Manchester, Kurt Elling, Bonnie Raitt and the New York Voices; Billboard chart toppers Mindi Abair, Renee Olstead, David Pack, and Russ Freeman; as well as stars from many other genres like American Idol's Justin Guarini, the Ahn Trio, the Stan Kenton Orchestra, the Ron King Big Band, Russell Ferrante, Sandro Albert, Brian Simpson, Peter White, and Jeff Kashiwa. Jamey maintains a busy studio career in Los Angeles, working with composers and producers like Patrick Williams, Daniel Lanois, Chris Walden, Bear McCreary, Mathew Hager, and David Schwartz, to name a few. He has performed on numerous major motion picture soundtracks, TV movies, records, and commercials.
Currently, Jamey is on tour with David Benoit and Mindi Abair and he is also performing with guitarist Peter White and new artist Courtney Fortune. As an artist/clinician for Sakae Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Evans Drumheads, and TOCA Percussion, he keeps a busy schedule of master classes and private instruction across the country and abroad.
